Big oak surround carved with vine leaves, grapes and so on. from a large merchants house in Perth. We intend to strip it one day which will make it look a lot lighter. Now the insert. One of the nicest we've had for a while. A really crisp casting and the sort of amazing tiles that everyone tries to copy with reproductions, but these are the originals and when you see them close up, certainly the best. No flat coloured transfers here. We've had it extended to be 42 inches square and I've put up a couple of pics showing the exiting moment( for us) of first removing the paint from the tiles, it just back from the blacksmith with its extension and of course, the finished article.
