Some people may scoff at such things living in an architectural salvage yard alongside Georgian fires etc, but they would be wrong. How often do you see this sort of thing now? and it's 50 years old! Seriously though, it is unusual to find these pieces still with their original colours, so many were painted over when styles changed, and once thats happened its impossible to bring it back to its original style. Also, while they are sturdily built, having plywood involved means that many of these pieces have been destroyed by being in damp garages etc.We like it and it must have felt like a breath of fresh air back in those post war years. NOW SOLD. |
